The latest issue of Offroad magazine says that the 3 worst 4x4's of all time are:

#3 Suzuki Samari

#2 Jeep CJ 5

#1 Ford Bronco II

Check out the November issue when it hits book stores. I got mine in the mail today.

Thats fine. Let em print that crap. Keep the prices down for those of us that know better.

Its funny cause 4WOR took 2 sammys on the UA this year and last year a B2 and a Ranger from here. I can think of a lot worse 4WD than the ones they listed but ok......

The simple fact that the CJ-5 is on that list shoots their credibility to hell.

samurais have been largely regarded as one of the best offroad vehicles in the past, due to it's well ballanced center, and next to no weight in it... the biggest downside is, of course, their 3 hp motor

Back in the day, lockers were super cheap too ! I think the remedy for the underpowered motor was to bolt in a V6-

Bah Haw! Did they list the best, need another laugh.

Offroad mags years ago said the same thing and even included the Ranger at one time due to not having any 'REAL' aftermarket accessories for them. BII's are great and so is the Sammie, since I have one and a few Sammie's made the trips on the Peterson's FourWheel drive adventures as well as a BII and a Ranger.

Go figure!!!

Obviously they dont know the rangers had the same drivetrain back in the day? I mean, sure, the dana 28 ttb sucks, and the slip yoke front shaft or electric transfer case is less than desireable, but really, #1 WORST?! Why not something crazy like that 2 differential'ed front axle ford put in their vans back in the day?

The only thing bad about the CJ5s are the incredibly weak 10 spline dana 30 or the 2 peice shafted Spicer 20 rear axle. Other than that, the engines were bulletproof, and the transmissions/transfer cases are used in some of the most insane builds in the world....twin stick and low gear upgrades available...etc.

It doesn't surprise me in the least. The B2 has always been regarded by the 4X4 crowd as Ford's ginger step kid.

What the hell do they know anyway? Eff Offroad Magazine.

I don't care what Off Road Mag says about how the B2 does off road. Mine stays on road. And if the B2 does half as well as the Ranger does when the road ends, well the B2 will keep going.

Thank God we dont live by what a magazine "thinks" its best or not.
