Hey guys

i have a problem... my 35x12.5 procomp xterrains and splitting!!!!!

the tires are seperating between the treads.... i haven't gone into my local tire guy yet... i've been in school but i noticed it the other day...

they have about 10,000km on them... should this be covered in warrenty???

also... since the guys who sold them to me couldn't balance them at the time i have been riding with them unbalanced... could that be the reason for this????

i'll try and get a photo as soon as i can...

anyways let me know what you guys think

thanks
RY

I would think they are still under warranty, but I think it also depends on how long ago you bought them?

damn i was hoping you guys wouldn't say that...

since the truck is only driven in the summer it's been three summers ago.....

ssooo technically it's been three years since i bought them....

i mean they don't even have the 10000 km on them... they still have the nubbies... (the little things that those brand new tires have)

well that sucks... i guess the only thing i can do is ask i guess... explain my storey....

do you guys think the unbalancing had a issue with it??????

Check this out.

Here's part of it.............................

I purchased a set of Pro Comp X-terrain 33x12.50x17, Load Range D, from 4 Wheel Parts. At only 5,000 miles my truck began to pull to one side of the road, so I took it back to 4 Wheel Parts and spent even more money for a second alignment. At about 7,000 miles I noticed a small vibration, which was intermittent making it extremely difficult to locate what was causing it and where it was coming from. The mechanics at 4 Wheel Parts couldn't here anything at all.

Later that weekend, I and my girlfriend loaded up our new jet skis and headed up for the lake, when both front tire treads separated causing us to go off the road and crash. My truck had minor damage, but our new jet skis were destroyed and my girlfriend would not stop crying.

I contacted 4 Wheel Parts along with Pro Comp Tires about a week later(800) 776-0767 . They told me that I had exceeded the design weight limitations of their tires, which was a crock. Not only were they not responsible for any damages, they were not going to even replace the brand new DEFECTIVE TIRES I had purchased. I AM LIVID!!

Here's another

Good luck getting any help on them. It sucks but it looks like you're gonna be SOL.

thats ridiculous!! even if they were overloaded they shouldnt seporate.even at three years old your tires should NOT be seporating! i would take them back to 4wp, i work at discount and any tire only 3 years old (thats really not all that old) with more than 3/32nds of tread would be warrantied for sepos but we dont sell procomps so idk what their policy is.

the x terrains have had issues which kept me away from the line since they come out, you cant overload them with a ranger so dont buy that shit.

i have not seen any recent ones till now. cooper makes the line, but i dont know if the x terrains are cooper or not, i know the at's are.

hopefully they arent farmed out to china:icon_surprised:...that would explain alot:shok:

at three years old i would say those could be the early ones i heard about.

i have run these current at's into triple digit speeds to check them, and i am very happy with them.

lol.......i wouldnt TAKE FOR FREE a swt of them tires, both of my buddys that had them had the issue within 20k miles

Get rid of them and get some Toyo M/Ts. They work good and ride nice. The Pro Comps i think would be covered buy warrenty, if not through them but 4wp should warrenty them. I work for Les Schwabs and we warrenty any seporatd tire thats still leagal tread depth and we sold.

O my thumps!!

thats crazy... so i'm not the only one... well thatnks again guys... and i'll let you all know how the battle goes withthe tires....

i don't do alot of heavy stuff but when we go wheelin it may not be hard core but it's for months at a time.... so little nervous heading out... this summer

but ya i can't beleave it.... tires seperating so early.... o well... teach me from buy tires other then michellin lol (why don't they make a/t's bigger then 33's//// well they no longer make those now either)

anyways... thank guys

BFGoodrich is (was?) a subsidery of Michelin, so you could get your 35" "Michelins" that way :icon_thumby:

get yourself either the BFG MT's or the BFG MT KM2's.....

4x4junkie.......i sssooo did not know that.... huh

ya the last set off 33's A/T michellin and well theres no tread left... i used them till they were flat...

well i'm crossing my fingers... although i figure i'll have no luck... just because the lady i bought them from... told me to go fly a kit when i asked....

"why aren't my tires mounted and balanced... i thought i paid extra for that"..............."o ya we over booked and couldn't get them done"..............."but you phoned me last week telling me they were ready"................"well they didn't get done"................."OH"

so i figure i'm not going to have the best of luck... o well it can't hurt to try...

and i think i'm going to turn to the BFG M/T... just the x-terrain... did look pretty good though... lol
