3 years and I need a new pair of shoes

My Chevy needs some new rubber due to lack of rotation, over inflation and my driving habits. 40k isn't too bad for mud tires, right?

I am looking for a nice set that will wear good and have good traction in slippery conditions. I was running 35" but I am looking to downsize.

What I have found is:
GoodYear MT/R 305/70r17
Toyo M/T 295/70r17 ; 285/75r17
BFG KM2 305/65R17

GoodYear Duratrac 285/70R17, maybe 315/70R17

Anyone have suggestions?

What do you mean by slippery conditions? A lot of mud tires suck in snow and ice..

Goodyear Prograde series run forever on heavier trucks. I have had a set of the all-terains on my F-350 service truck (near 10,000lb) for almost 40,000 and they have over half the tread left. They are a bit pricey though.

I had considered them until I saw what happened to Musick17's.

Maybe after he get's to 20k on the rest of them, and if they replace that one free of charge, will I get one. I recommend everyone else avoid them just the same.

Wow, good I seen that. I was considering trying a retread for my front drivers side. But f that. I may try goodyears when I finally need some but 20k miles on my BF goodrich AT's and they got alot of tread left for rear ones. I never moved them around lol.

I have run BFG ATs and they do awesome in the snow. the other tire that is sweet with snow is a Uniroyal Laredo HD/T. i have them on the back of my 83 250 and they are amazing. the only problem is they dont come in too many sizes.

This is a quarter if its too blurry.

they have about a thousand miles on them and are wearing decent even though the truck really doesnt get driven much.

if you want a mud tire that doesnt hum, sticks in anything and wont break the bank, go for Kumho KL71 Road Venture Mud Terrain. I HIGHLY recomend these. ive run BFG Muds and BFG A/T and these tires are fricken amazing. my 2wd goes through places that guys with BFG's go stuck in. I was shocked.

after 5000 miles, no sign of wear.

I had Uniroyal liberators on my last ranger, They're a great "cheap tire". I paid $50 a piece at walmart for them (granted it was 225/70/14 and 6 years ago). They were great in the snow (stopping AND going), had pretty good traction in the rain, and still had pretty good tread on them after putting nearly 25k miles on them before I sold the truck.

I am looking at the Duratracs. I don't know about the Kumhos though.

i know to many people running the treadwrights for that one defect to make me scared of them. i've seen brand new km2's do the same thing... so should i avoid km2's also??? i mean seriously, one mistake is not gonna scare me i guess..
