how would you paint your truck with rustoleum, use a gun or roller. what looks better

Are you talking about just painting it because your bored, to cover all the rust and dents or painting it because you want it to look nice?

to look semi nice i no it wount look perfict but as good as i can get it to look

You got a steady hand and painters tape (and actually know how to paint with a spraybomb)? You could make it nice like that for cheap.

Also on a side note. Please use punctuation at least. It looks neater and easier to read.

I knew a guy that painted his neighbors house then painted his car with the same paint. It looked good at night. If you can use a spraygun it will look nicer. If you don't care try a roller.

A roller just doesnt seem like it would look that good. It might leave quite a bit of texture.

Actually thinning out the paint 50/50 with mineral spirits before rolling it on is the trick. The paint then self levels amazingly, looking like it was sprayed on.

I did a bunch of reading on the subject, I'm painting my trail rig XJ in Atomic Tangerine house paint:icon_twisted: Although I'm using a Wagner spray gun to speed the process up, but still thinned out 50/50

Google $50 paint job, and go to the Mopar forum and it will show where a guy rolled his 69 Charger in orange. Then he sanded it and buffed it. It looks pretty damn good! I personally wouldn't roll it because it obviously would be a lot easier to use a gun. Shows it is possible though!

You don't use a roller on a car.

You just don't.

It doesn't work that way.

Agreed! With enough sanding and polishing it may end up looking nearly the same, but i doubt it. I would hate to take on sanding and polishing rolled on paint. A cheap paint gun and testing on a spare piece of sheet metal would be faster, more thorough, and turn out better. I have seen some terrible paint jobs from actual professional body shops, I can only imagine what a roller paint job would look like.

What happend? Was someone blinded by the yellow paint job? Sucks...

My brother and I sprayed his old S-10 (originally a Navy vehicle that was surplussed and sold to the public) with Rustoleum at the base auto hobby shop. We cut it with mineral spirits, don't recall what ratio.

Turned out pretty well.
