My truck has a 2/3 DJM Drop on it currently, but with the 5.0 swap and being a stepside its more like a 3/2.5 drop......

My rear spring hangers are starting to rust through so I purchased new ones.

I'd read in a few places that if I flip the rear hanger it will drop the tail another inch or 2, I just wanted to be sure this was accurate, and more importantly will this cause issues with clearance between the axle and the frame? (Do I need to notch the rear to safely flip the rear hangers if the axle is already flipped from my DJM 2/3 kit?)

Current Stance:

yes your truck will sit just about 1.5" lower then it does now. and if i'm correct from what it looks like in the pic is that your leaf springs go under the axle. witch means that your axle tube will be sitting that much closer to the frame. mesure your clearences before you make any changes. remember you will not lose any saspention travel by doing the hanger flit so you my need to do a small C notch so when your at the line and you punch it your axle and frame wont meet causeing a loss in traction.

It will drop it about 1.5 inches, like logicgear said. I think with that much drop you would have very little uptravel, so I'd say notch it. Make sure that you check your pinion angle and shim it if needed.

Ranger power sports guys got back to me and pointed out my DJM kit has longer shackles *Axle flip is a 5 inch drop, but the kit has longer shackles to raise it back to a 3 inch drop... Because my shackles are longer, if I flip it, it will drop it far more than OEM shackles, so it would go from a 3 inch drop, to a 6-7 inch drop, which will require a bolt-in notch.

Thanks for the input guys, I need to either slam it, or get a set of OEM shackles.
