scilicone hubs?

on my way home from work i was thinking about the mod to secure the hubs to the rotors, and then i thought would it hurt to put a little hi temp scilicone on the hub to help keep water and mud out of the hub? or would that harm the hub or rotor? i figured it could also help hold the hub to the rotor and its not that hard to get off if you needed, just dont "GLOB" the $#!+ on. thanks guys

I don't see it hurting anything (other than making a mess the next time you have to take it apart), though if your O-rings are in good shape, it shouldn't be necessary.

I agree.

Putting silicone on the might make it a PITA to take off when the time comes.

and where are said O-rings? lol not to sound like a tard but i cant remember seeing any on my hubs.. although everything was covered in grease. but where are they? in the hub by the splines or around the outside of it

ah thank you, ill ask my parts guy how much my price would be. that sticker sounds sweet! lol but i hate napa, ive got nothing good to say except the store by my moms ruined it for them all.

if your O rings are gone,or in poor shape, go for it with the RTV. I run a bead all the way around, slide them on, and run 2 lug nuts down. let them sit for a hour to set up. then go about my bussines.

when taking them off, I havent had any issue. been a few times i've just slid them back on, with no ill effects.

just use alittle common sense with the RTV, and all will be fine.

yeah i dont follow the RTV rule of one tube per 1 inch lol but do you use the high temp stuff since its on the brakes?

I would use Ultra Black, it should hold up
