this time of year we fish for dogfish[species of shark] but coming in may we go after blackcod and halibut, which can last until october depending on how many permits and poundage you are alotted. and in september we can go after tuna[ glorified sport fishing]

with all the species of fish that we can catch it's pretty much a year round thing, weather permitting. this time of year it can be pretty ugly what with the windspeed at 15-25 and a west swell of@14 foot AND 5-7ft wind waves ya gotta have a lotta sand and a pretty big set. worst i been in was blowing 25S.E. 12ft swell w/5ft wind waves

I may do a couple openers on my friends boat out of Cordova this year. Its mello in prince Williams sound compared to the Bearing sea, fishing out of Dutch harbor is no cake walk its pretty much what you see on Most dangerous jobs. I am surprised my brother is still alive after being a bearing sea crabber for 20 + years, he's got lots of broken bones and scar's to show for it though.

I heard you can catch crabs from tuna...

Seriously...tuna and halibut are HUGE FF! My parents owned a fish and chip store and when the guy deliverd the halibut for my dad it was a big as a side of beef...that's probably why I don't like swimming in salt water...Big, big, big BIG FISH...

I guess you can't catch them in a net...but that boat looks kinda small...how many big fish can you get on one of those before you're drawing water?
