Finally ready to lower my truck...about a year ago there was a kit i found on ebay which came with a flip kit for the rear and diff springs in the front it was 3in front 4in rear. But of course now that im ready to lower it, i cannot find the same kit again. the truck has stock leafs and springs and has a 8.8 rear end. It has 275 streets on the rear w a 8in wide wheel and 4.5"backspacing. I want it to be flipped in the rear but i also am going to need to put some kind of traction bars on the truck so the axle will not roll out from the ubolts. i believe i read somewhere that you can use exlplorer traction bars???? any help or info on lowering this truck would be appreciated,...i think i ask more questions that anyone on this forum lol but its all good v8rangers ftw:headbang:

Explorer traction bars would take a lot of work. The front of the Explorer springs mount under the frame, so it is quite different.
Some kind of caltrac type bar would be good.
I have a set of old-school slapper bars, but I think they would clash horrible with the style of my truck.

why is this in the v8 conversion area?

Probably the only section he reads. Like me.

yall realize you are only scratching the surface of all the info here.. you could always use the user cp button, and the new post button... and see it all :icon_thumby:

or he could post suspension questions in the suspension form. if we all just post in our own little one section, why even have it broken down like it is?

but now i'm past all the seriousness part-- this thread needs pics... :D

I browse the site occasionally, but I do most of my "general" Ranger stuff on one of the other sites. To be honest, my truck is as low as it's ever going to be, has the best brakes I'll ever add, has the paint I want... You get the idea. I just come here to the V8 section to share info I've gained from this and other sites. And I'm happy to share with anyone who has done a hint of research.
