surge

I have an automatic 1989 bronco 2 4x4 and I've been trying to fix this problem for over a year. After it warms up when I come to a stop the engine surges. Sometimes it dies and sometimes it fixes itself and starts to idle really high (like 1000 RPM). Also when its warm and I'm driving highway...
