    Strange occasional stumble and CEL

    1991 Ranger 3.0 5spd, stumbles and CEL flashes on right back off when it does this. Replaced EEC power relay, ECU and ignition switch. Last night it actually died once on the way home then drove just fine with no issues until this morning

    looking for input for the best option for a 5spd for my v8 swap, truck is a 3.0 5spd 2wd extended cab. looked at late model f150 4.2 5spd and late model 3.8 mustang 5spd. What would be the best option to go with in your opinion? thanks, Erik

    front drive shaft for SAS and 4406 tcase

    did some searching, didn't find what i need. have a 95 ranger 5.0 and SAS need to know what you guy use for a front shaft with a 98 f150 elec t-case? thanks, Erik

    95 V8 swap, 1356 t-case??

    have the pieces needed for transfer case swap. what do i do with the speed sensor from from ranger transfer case?? the explorer awd unit had one but the 96 bronco electric shift i bought does not!

    have all the parts gathered and engine is ready to go in. get some things caught up in the shop and its on. :icon_thumby: going to try and and use shorty '89 mustang headers... will be making my own engine support/crossmember so we will see how it fits.

    cluster swap issues

    so i swapped in an 03 explorer white face cluster in my '95 ranger... definately not plug 'n plug as ppl have posted. no theft light, coolant temp gauge, check engine light, fuel cap light stays on...any idea on what wires i need to repin to make it fully functional? :icon_confused:

    same box as the ranger uses... still haven't found a a site or info to decode the steering ID tags to know what ones are close ratio thinking about grabbing a close ratio camaro box and comparing the mounting points... would have to make custom hoses for sure but i think the steering shaft...

    well... that would be the same box the ranger ang bII's use according to hollander. of course they say ratios differ..ie lock to lock. so if some one know what id# to look for to get a close ratio, i am thinking maybe the f150 lightnings from the late 90's would be that way but in hollander they...

    none yet... got to get the new front springs ordered and new shocks. i do have a ?? though. does any know of a quicker ratio steering box that swaps into the rangers? i did this on my v8 s10 and it made it so much better to drive and would like to do the same to the ranger.

    working on that.. was going to do that today but had a few things to finish up at the shop from yesterday...btw front cv shafts are a PITA on a 2000 isuzu amigo. got that done and replaced the clutch in a 96 sunfire....so now i get to work on my truck tomorrow :icon_thumby:

    locker isn't the issue.... front diff is 3.73 and rear is 3.27.. will explode important parts if i engage 4x4 to do some climbing

    nope... sorry i haven't done any yet. still have to swap in the 3.73 locker so the 4x4 will work. been busy lately with roof damage @ home from hail and wind a couple months ago...insurance company are soooo slow i will get to that hopefully this weekend

    from what i gathered after reading other forums and threads it improves ride quality. most factory leaf spring trucks, except jeep put the shackle in the rear. and most jeep forum guys and gals reverse the shackle to rear
