The original seal # is F89W-4676-AB. 1ST picture is the silicone residue on the side of the seal the 2nd is the original next to the 714675 seal that slid right in the housing. The 3rd is the original seal next to the 3604 seal that is obviously much larger.
No i havent thought of the rear end tag # i can try that if the current seal i have on order doesnt work. Yes in the info that I looked up said it's 170 foot lbs for the pinion nut while holding the yoke and 18lbs of drag. That's what I saw on a previous forum here.
Yes and I'm pretty sure I've gotten the wrong seal 2x. The 2nd one I got fits in the housing but there is a little play and I know with seals there is usually some resistance installing. So I assumed it was the incorrect seal.

Hello everyone, I'm looking to swap my 2011 2.3 Ranger with a 4.6 or a 5.0. I've read the articles about swapping with the explorer 5.0 and that being the easiest swap. I'm not finding an explorer 5.0 worth it so I was thinking about an alternate route. Maybe a 4.6 out of a crown vic. Debating...
