  1. Aluminum vs. Fiberglass

can get some tomorrow. been busy with family. mother in law, grandmother both passed recently.
  2. Aluminum vs. Fiberglass

got one that came with my "new to me" 86 Supercab. It is aluminum, but, it has a fiberglass top. :icon_confused:
  3. Lets see your camping vehicles!

looks <alot> like one down the road from me, about 1 mile or so away. not a bad camper, but, is kind of small..... BTW, enjoy the Bourbon Trail, while down here?
  4. Woo-hoo!

Back in the saddle again out at the junkyard that I used to work at! :yahoo: Started my day off with stripping some Rangers down to crush. (moment of silence, please). The good thing is, as long as I don't get carried away, I can get almost everything that I want from the RBV's as they...
  5. Rattle, rattle, rattle.....POP.

Yeah. 84 BII, tk5. Thought that the rattle that I was hearing was the throwout bearing giving up. Swapped it out, still rattled. Short test drive, on blacktop. NASTY crunchy noises in all gears. 5th gear actually lost forward momentum. Creeped home in 4th, best option, least noise. Rattle was in...
  6. Bugging Out / Survival

We have been slowly "up rating" the BII and the 2 Rangers to 1St Gen. "X" specs, drivetrain wise. This will greatly reduce the number of "spares" per vehicle, plus maximize interchangeability between them. Same tires, wheels, mods, etc... The hardest part is still trying to figure which 1 or 2...
  7. NO EGR casting on intake

so, any body have an idea as to what year this 2.3 might be? The intake is the later style truck injection manifold, but, other than that, the only thing that I can offer is that the part number starts with E8. :icon_confused: Oh, and the exhaust mani has what looks like a factory installed...
  8. Banks "Sidewinder" turbo....

Hmm. How exactly does one tell what "size" a turbo is? I have one that I swiped from a 6.2 Sub. that was being scrapped, and I don't know if it is going to be too much or too little (yeah, right....:icon_rofl: ) for my 2.3 project. Anybody know???
  9. bronco 44

Yeah, the 1st gen Rubi axle is really nothing more than a D44 centersection and the remainder is the standard D30, including the craptasical unit bearings, small bolt pattern, etc. As for keeping the longarm kit, well, if you can either fab the brackets or know someone that can, then go with it.
  10. bronco 44

Any D44 gears EXCEPT for reverse rotation will work. You will need to change the carrier along with the gearset since you are going lower than 3.92. You also might want to rethink using the Jeep long arm setup, as the EB ( Early Bronco) radius arms fall pretty much right into place on the...
  11. 5.0 or 5.8, which way to go????

:icon_twisted: So, I have the complete ( ALL harness, comp, all fuel system ) from my 89 Bronco that I junked yesterday, and I have a complete 351 from an 82 Bronco. My question for the Bretheren, and sisters, is this: which motor would YOU go with, and why, in an 84 Ranger LB, 4WD that is...
  12. Got my kids hooked on RBV's...

:headbang: and now my wife has kicked me out of my 89 Full Size Bronco! :bawling: Now, this is gonna sound nuts, but it is all true. For the last three years my daughter, who turned 5 a couple of months back has been argueing with me, my wife AND her brother that the little red 84 BII...
  13. Need Advice... DANA 30 SAS...

A reason that the JK axle is not so popular, even with the Jeep crowd is that it uses the BIG chevy bolt pattern, 5 on 5. It is also an odd ball width for the majority of folks to run, as you end up having to get the matching axle to keep your track width anywhere close to equal, and parts for...
  14. d30 sas steering?

    Watch the thread... :P
  15. d30 sas steering?

Ya, I'd LOVE to have a cert'd welder in my toolbox, but I at least have ME. remember what I suggested about boxing the frame where the UCAs' go. Basically, just like Jeep did when they built the XJ.
