I have found a 5 speed manual from a 4 banger will it bolt up to my 2.9 v6?

I have an 87 ranger 2.9 auto. I found a 5 speed manual that i would like to put in cause the auto crapped out on me. However the tranny i found is off a 2.3 four banger!¡!¡!¡ Will it work?
