Here
she is folks, the broke down, retired Ranger that started the very first
and largest off-road Ranger website on the internet that's even been
featured in magazines.
Above are some photos of my
1983 Ranger commonly referred to as TRS-1. I have owned and
wheeled this truck since 1991. The truck has been a great mud and
trail truck and has been featured in the December 2003 issue of Off-Road
Adventures Magazine, appeared in 'Readers Rides' in some magazines and
been spotted in some trail ride photos in Off-Road Adventures Magazine. Here is a break down of it's

Need Of Restoration!
I
hate walking outside and seeing this truck sitting in my driveway. I've
basically retired this truck until it can be rebuilt.
Back
when this truck was first built by me, there wasn't ANY
off-road Ranger websites. There wasn't anyplace to go online and get
good tech information for off-road Ranger enthusiasts.
When
I created The Ranger Station in 1999, the only other websites on the
internet for Rangers was fordranger.com and Ranger Power Sports (RPS).
fordranger.com is now gone. Ranger Power Sports is still around. Ranger
Power Sports was focused on the street trucks, lowriders, etc, so I
built this site for off-road enthusiasts around the truck you see here.
If it wasn't for this truck, this site wouldn't exist today.
I
need to save this truck! I could never junk it or sell it.
Future
Modifications:
I've taken the front clip off and
replaced it with a fiberglass front clip to convert it to the 2001
body style. I am either going to bob the bed, or lighten it up
with some fiberglass bedsides.
I have purchased a set of 1979 high pinion Dana 60's
to put in it. I plan to re-gear them with 5.38's and lockers. I
haven't decided yet on the locker brand.
I
will keep the 302, but would like to either upgrade to a custom dual
transfer case (doubler) setup or an Atlas II case. Cost will be the
deciding factor.
Tires
will either be 39.5's or 42's.
Frame
will be custom built
Truck
will have a roll cage and a new interior with suspension seats.
As
far as suspension goes, I'm now leaning towards a 1-link type of
suspension with a grader ball.
Money:
It
all comes down to money. If I had it, I would have rebuilt this truck
long before now. I have no idea when I will finally get to start the
rebuild on this.
