Who wrecked their Ranger Edge V8 swap?

There are listing that are available to the public to bid without a license or a broker, but you're only saving a $400 broker fee and maybe a $99 transaction fee, plus you're competing with a lot more people on those vehicles. The total Copart fees are still well over $1000 on a $500 winning bid. They tack on fees like they're the government, and they might as well be because they've got the salvage vehicle market completely cornered. Nearly a total monopoly.

Well I had some interest in this, so I pulled the CarFax. Interestingly, the miles reported built up as one would expect until it had 266,100 on 7/12/24. Then a new owner 11/1/24 and suddenly it shows around 68,000 miles. It shows a minor accident 1/10/25 with damage to front, damage to undercarriage, vehicle towed, airbags did not deploy. Then, also 1/10/25 it shows declared total loss by insurance company for non-collision damage. So I now think its worth a lot less than what I thought when I saw the 68k miles on the odo.

Odometer doesn't matter much when it's been drivetrain swapped. A V8 Ranger isn't for people that don't like working on their vehicles. Anything else on that truck that fails, can be repaired by the owner if he's determined enough.
