Hey all. first time deleting the wires on the 2.8 doing a simple ignition replacement. not a stranger in tackling wire projects. My main stumbling block is what wires are actually needed to keep? (my wire diagrams are a bit misleading to say the least) deleting the computer, the over complicated carb, the over complicated EFI dis, and going to try the locked version and advancing the timing to see what happens. it is a 84 and i want to clean up this wire mess.
what if any wires do i need to keep from the passenger fender's mass of plugs and wires? and from the computer box thing in the cab? i have deleted the AC. also.
any help is thankful. the last owner had hacked and cut many wires already.
re wording the questions ... from the computer box are there any crucial items that are needed to run the truck? or can I just delete the whole bowl of spaghetti and rewire the main components needed to run the engine. IE started, alternator, ignition, mechanical gauges .... are there any relays or switches that must be kept? thanks
