What’s for dinner tonite!

For years and years my aunt always brought pretty good potato salad to get togethers. It was good enough for who it was for and she never complained so her special potato salad was her go-to contribution.

Eventually her daughter let the cat out of the bag that she was buying it at Sam's, adding onion and just bringing it her bowl. ;missingteeth;
I’ve come across that sort of thing a lot, seems like that’s the thing to do, get store bought potato salad and add stuff to it to make it somewhat acceptable. The store bought stuff out of the container tastes like paste to me. Both of my grandmas used to make home made potato salad, mom makes both types now and I’ve made them before but not often. Dad’s side was a German potato salad (served hot, uses vinegar) and mom’s side was a more common cold potato salad, just way better.

Ya know I wasn't picking on anyone here right, I saw it and just had to....

I didn't forget about the potato salad recipe... just haven't has time today. I will say it had a pound of thick cut bacon crumbled in it. Dukes Mayo... I always pay up for it... and a bag of the chefs blend cheese.

not exactly dinner.
brewed 3 quarts of tea. to expedite the cool down I place the pot on a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum and add ice packs.
the aluminum plate is from a mid '80s Hewlett-Packard plotter. it was the base under the platen surface where the drawings occurred.

never throw out good junk :icon_thumby:

A bit bigger... you could make a bash plate for the front of your truck with that.

My 88 year old mom said she wanted me to make tapioca earlier this visit. She the asked me to try to make some rice pudding. I had never made it... but found a recipe on the webs and gave it a go. This is the second time I've made it and it's delicious...
