Hi, I recently adjusted the valve lash on my 2.8 and must have done it wrong. The valves are still making a lot of clatter. The haynes manual says to adjust (X) cylinder valves when (Y) cylinder intake valve is opening. Does this mean when the intake valve is just starting to open? Thanks, Lucas.

Yes, that is what it is for

So if the intake valve for #5(Y) is just opening then you adjust both valve's lash in cylinder #1(X), NOT #5

Alright, I was just confused about when to adjust on the intake valve stroke. Thanks for the response.

Got around to re-adjusting the valve lash again. It made a massive difference. No tapping at all once warmed up.
