I have the standard Ranger trim rings on a 2002 XLT extra cab. One of my rims rusted through, doesn't hold air. Is there magic, or a secret to getting the trim rings off old rim...put on new rim...? Thanx for any info.

you can use anything that will get under the edge to pop them off.

if you go to a tire shop, they have rubber mallets with a pry bar looking on the back of the head. those are to take those beauty rings and hub caps off. maybe swing by one and ask to borrow it real quick

Was told by a backyard mechanic that they wouldn't come off. Lucky to have such a good website, and knowledgeable folks to help. Thank you very much, superj.

They have to take them off when they change the tire. They are on there real good but they do come off. Just prying and pulling.
