I don’t see using LED as a problem. The little trailer we built is all LED. I didn’t want to fight with bulbs being out. All of the marker lights on it are flush mount LED and I put the taillights in metal boxes. Tow dolly got treated the same way. At some point I’ll get the big trailer converted. Some of my vehicles are all LED, some are part LED and some haven’t been altered yet. Longer life on the lights and less draw on an aged electrical system seems like a good idea to me.

I added led light assemblies to my box trailer many years ago, all the marker lights are still original, have never had a issue with it. Im not sure if my new trailer is led or not, I do have a set of magnetic-mount trailer lights that are led. I use them on the ranger trailer because those lights just refuse to work from one time to the next. Those lights have worked great with no problems. Bought them at harbor freight.

I've been converting stuff to the pop out style LED lights as they're way nicer, even the Harbor Freight versions, they have molded plugs to go into the lights but with a little dielectric grease they seem to last fine... I put oval pop outs on my smaller trailer and round ones on a bigger one, both have been working for like 4 years I think, stored outside even... I thought I had a picture of the mess I went through to make the channel iron on this trailer tall enough for a pop out light but apparently not... it's not exactly easy to make a small part of channel iron 1/2" taller :)

Going LED on a trailer isn't a real problem I don't think on anything normal, I've only heard of it being an issue on VW's for whatever reason (I ignore it because it's VW...). I'd just do it and not worry about it...

I consistently clip one of mine on a post backing my trailer in, and it still hasnt died yet. Just pops off and I pop it back in
