i got a 83 ranger 4x4. engine came from a 85. did a complete body swap,trans rebuild,upper half engine rebuild.

only thing is,all them solenoids and hoses on the carb are all screwed up. i dont have any of them hoses and dont wanna mess with making it original.

can i get a holley carburetor and put it on instead of the stock , and eleminate all of the hoses and wiring stuff that goes in to the carb.
im using a 2.8 from a 85 , anyone got a part number or something for a carb that i can put on instead of the stock carb??

also do i need all of them hoses and electrical stuff on the carb.?
im using all aftermarket gauges. wanting to upgrade the carb, eleminate all them hoses and electrical stuff that goes to the carb\\

any advice?

go to the tech page and theres a section on ignition about the duraspark converstion and it gives all information you need. itll give you help on carbs too.

There's nothing wrong with the original carb that installing a manual metering block won't solve.

Pinto 2.8 carb fits and works correctly with the D-spark mod. You can also use the carb from an 83 Cougar 3.8 on a 2.8. The jet is a little big, but can be swapped out for the 2.8 jet fairly easily, if you wish. V8 carb is too big, fuel wise and has more airflow than the 2.8 will ever need. The carb that you are looking for has "1.08" cast into the drivers front corner.
