Can someone please relate the stereo wiring color codes for a 1999 ranger 4.0. My 1999 resto ranger stereo had been ripped out and repaired poorly then ripped out again. I can only assume the stereo was stolen twice as there were only jumbled wires sticking out from dash when I got the truck. I’m installing a S8 double din.

WTG Patrick! With the Atoto even! Love mine, brightness is dimmed at night, besides that. I give it 5 stars.

This may help, maybe.....with a tiny AAA, or AA cell battery, you can tap wires and hear the speaker "click". It won't hurt the speaker.

I've asked their tech support to help out with the tiny (7") screen and my big fingers not being perfectly centered on the touch screen, besides that the S8 is a beast. Hope you get it going soon. Harbor freight Tracer
works pretty well for 15 bucks.

You can also use this to "phase" a speaker. Watch the speaker cone when you apply the battery voltage; cone moving out the battery polarity matches the speaker's polarity. If the cone moves in the battery polarity is connected reversed to the speaker's polarity.

The battery size doesn't really matter; just limit it to 1.5 volts to keep from popping the speaker too hard. I used to use a D cell with wire leads soldered on it.
