- Get the job done, correctly, the first time. There's beer to be had.
I replaced my heater valve a few weeks ago but that resulted in a new leak. The valve was old, cracked and seeping coolant and probably had been for some time.
After replacing it, I figure that since the cooling system can properly pressurize, a new weak point was discovered. The leak was happening from the front right side of the engine around the water pump with the engine off. I assumed it was the water pump so I replaced that along with the thermostat and the upper and lower radiator hoses.
When filling the system after replacing the pump, it began dripping in the same spot. Now I'm wondering what it could be. Assuming it's behind the timing cover, I once again collected parts and gaskets but I don't want to dig any further into this engine without a better idea of the possibilities.
Thanks all.
