Went to start my truck yesterday and thought the starter was still kicked in when it was running, so i turned the key off . The starter kept turning the motor over. took the key completely out of the ignition and it was still turning the motor. only way i could turn it off was onhook the battery. Any one have this happen before?

Never happened to me, but sounds like your switch (in the column) or a stuck solenoid - most likely the switch.
Disconnect the starter cable from the solenoid and see if that terminal is still getting voltage when the switch is off.

I had such a thing happen to me the other day and it was because I recentley put the starter in and the "hot" wire was touching the "switch" wire on the solenoid. When I tightened up the hot wire in rotated to the switch. Scared the heck out of me when I hooked up the batterey.

hmm. hadn't thought of that lol. I put a new solenoid on and it starts fine now, but didn't check the wires before i did, Thanks for the help tho guys.

replace the solenoid . its most likely stuck open, ending constant power to the starter. its happened to me on my 2.9. usually from buying cheap solenoids.
