I am just curious as to the answer of this question that I have...Does a muffler affect the sound/flow being closer to the front of the truck as to being toward the rear of the truck? I have the OEM pipe going into 2.5 inch pipe for about 2 1/2 feet going into my muffler (2.25 d/o) which is located just before the end of the driveshaft. I'm not looking to change anything, i was just looking for some input as to how all that stuff works. Thanks.

the closer a muffler is to the engine, the more effective it is.

muffler placement has a negligible effect on flow.

As wicked said, the closer the muffler is to the END of the tailpipe it will be louder. If all your exhaust pipe is the same dia. then placement will not effect the flow much.
