School me in ARB

I bought an axle with an air locker already in it. But that's all I got, just the axle. My question is how exactly does it work? I'm assuming it needs constant air pressure to lock in and stay locked.

What do I need to get it to work? Just buy a kit from arb or is there a more economical alternative?

Any air compressor or kit will do, as long as it will reach at least 85 psi.

I bought one of the VIAR kits from the TRS store, and used a regulator set to 85 psi. Much past 100-105 psi, you risk blowing the seals of the locker, which is not fun to fix.

Apart from that, hoses, connectors and a switch for the air valve.

You should have at least some small tank, even one made out of PVC or something, just for a little bit of a reservoir. Be sure to include a drain, and the line to the locker not on the bottom.

Ok so get 85 psi to a tank then a valve on a switch to keep that 85 going to the locker. I'd assume that it's better that way rather than have the compressor running constantly.

Pretty much, there's a few ways you can do it as long as 85psi gets to the locker. I'll get a picture/video of my setup tomorrow probably. As usual when I come back to these posts, I've been up well over 24 hours, and still need to eat and do life stuff. (I know, I know )

I recall the pressure switch on ARB's compressor is 105 PSI. 85 PSI I think is the minimum pressure the locker requires, so I would shoot for something closer around 100-105 PSI.

The Air Locker doesn't continuously consume air (provided the seals are good), just whatever air it needs to engage. The air is then expelled when you release the switch (deactivating the solenoid or valve).

It should have come with an under the hood compressor kit to install. If not you need a CONSANT 110-85 psi to engage and keep engaged. The internal compressor kit isn't too bad to install but can be costly on brand.
