I've got a set like that and I don't think one of them has ever fit right. Better than nothing but either loose or very tight...

I have a local mom and pop store that sells paint, sandpaper, and other autobody shop supplies. Most have clips for most makes of cars and trucks. I have gone to the boneyard and got replacement clips off other same years of Ford cars and trucks even if it was not for a Ranger.

I don't have a specific site to send you to at the moment. But you can find exact or almost exact replacements. Just keep hunting. I got a whole bag of the big-headed pushi-ins that keep the insulation attached under the hood and they were perfect, exact replacements.

It helps to measure the head diameter, length, and diameter of the the pin so you can filter by size. Once you have the part number you can sometimes find them on Rockauto if you search by part number. You can also find a lot of them on Amazon, but you may have to buy 50 of them. Sometimes you can cross reference the part number on the Dorman website and find or order them in at an auto parts store.

I looked high and low to replace mine cause all the auto parts stores sell is generic "almost right" that are not right at all, ended up getting 1 good old original from the junkyard and then measuring em (in metric) with calipers and buying (off metric measurement specs) on aliexpress - perfect fit... then figured out the ford part number later.... I paid $5 for 100 of em months ago before Trump started messing with imports .

Might also call them "Christmas Tree Fastener" or "Interior panel retainer"... here's the thread on my reach out back in Sept.

I ordered the ones for the '90 off aliexpress, and for the '07 I finally found some in the same year ('07) on some other ford - think it was a focus or something, took a lot of trips to the yard and eventually to the yard further out to get it.
