I just replaced this rubber bit of hose with some generic 3/8th power steering line and it’s leaking pretty badly out of where the hose connects to the hard metal line at the top. Any suggestions on how to stop the leak?

Worm drive type hose clamps can sometime be more forgiving than the spring type. Are you sure that's supposed to be that way? Not a crimped high pressure line?

That’s actually not my photo but when you buy the line with the hard metal line together from ford it comes like that with a worm drive clamp and it’s how mine was before. It’s also not a high pressure line and is just the low pressure return line for the cooler. I was thinking of trying to wrap the hard metal line in teflon tape but I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not.

You may need to use a “constant tension” hose clamp, the type used for fuel injection. It distributes clamping force more equally around the hose.

Teflon tape is for threaded connections.

If you have that much pressure on the return line, I'd be inclined to believe something else is wrong. I don't think my return even has a hose clamp. Granted it's an earlier gearbox type setup.

Alright that’s good to know I’ll try that and hopefully it solves my issue
