Please Help From 3.0 To 4.0 : Yes Or No

I HAVE A 2002 B3000 3.0 AUTO 4X4 WITH A BLOWN ENGINE. I HAVE A 4.0 ENGINE THAT I WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH BOTH ENGINES ARE OHC ENGINES WILL IT BE A " DROP IN REPLACEMENT" ..... ?????:3gears:
 
if you go "4.0" you will need to change the trans also, the bell housing bolt patterns are different.

Wait a minute......3.0's are indestructible......there's no way that 3.0 could be blown up.

Just ask all the guys here who want to feel good about the ranger they ended up with!!!

no id even say stay away from the fridge. Be a shame if the beer got warm.

I thought the 3.0L found in the Ranger was an OHV Vulcan engine? I don't see anything mentioning ever putting a Duratec SOHC 3.0L in a Ranger on Wiki, nor have I ever heard of that from the factory.

Are you kidding me? The newer 3.0Ls can tend to commit suicide, I would almost be willing to bet his CPS failed and engine froze. If you have a distributor, that claim would be a lot more reasonable.

And oh, to actually answer your question: No. It's not even close to a direct bolt in. 3.0L is an odd ball compared to the Colonge engines.
