I have a 1993 Ranger 4.0L XLT 4x4 that is lifted 4 inches and currently still have the stock 15X7 rims (which I believe have 4 inch backspacing, correct me if I am wrong.) and the stock 31/10.50/15 tire size and am going to jump to a 33/12.50/15 tire and aftermarket rims that are 15X8. My question is what backspacing (or offset) do i need to keep the tires covered as the 31's I have now? Any information is appreciated and thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

3.75" backspacing is the norm for a 15x8 wheel on a ranger.

^ 3.73 is good for an 8" rim. You don't want them tucked in too much for 3 reasons
1. You will rub your suspension components
2. Less stable in off camber situations
3. It will just look silly

No I do not want them tucked too much but I don't want them sticking out a lot either I am just trying to determine the backspacing to keep it near stock equivalent but without rubbing

A 15x8 wheel w/3.75" BS will put the tread edge of a 33x12.50 tire right even with the edge of the factory fender flare on a '93-'97 4WD truck.

Thank you but we did a test fit with a 10" wide wheel and it barely clipped and then with 8" wide and nothing clipped it just had improper backspacing so thank you once again this is what I needed :)
