Once I turn key to start the starter cranks engine starts but starter doesn't stop when I release I have to unhook battery and then pull a few fuses from power distribution box to get it to stop cranking

I've already checked the ignition switch on top of steering column if sticking it's not

As I posted in your introduction thread I'm just a novice.

The first thing I would do is disconnect starter and bench test it to see if the starter is the actual problem and not something else.

Just an idea you can take it or leave it it's up to you.

Good luck to you brother.

If the starter is staying engaged it's one of two things, either the starter relay on the passenger side fender by the battery or the starter itself. One way to see if it is the relay or starter would be to jump the two big posts on the relay with an open ended wrench, with the key on and in neutral or park see if it sticks when you jump the starter that way. If it doesn't stick when you bypass the relay like that then it is the relay, if it still sticks it is an issue in the starter itself.
