Other than my Fords I also owns two 70 Series Land Cruisers.

76 1VD 4.5L Diesel V8 Station Wagon and a 79 Single Cab 4.0l V6.

I use the 76 V8 for hard core 4x4 trips. The 79 is my fully equipped touring 4x4.

Some pic`s. Will share some of the mods and builds.

As you rub it in don't forget the salt...

I have never actually seen one in real life, I really love the concept of them but they are pretty much untouchable here.

Those are some hard to find trucks here. Several trucks Toyota makes for other countries that are not here and we are missing out on them. I liked the diesel they produced over seas for their trucks.

those are both super cool. i love the single cab truck version the most though. thats exactly what i picture as the most useful version of a truck a person could get

Those are some nice 70 series vehicles you have there. While there are some here, they are very few and far between. People have to import them and have to wait until they are over a certain age before they can do that. I think they have to be 20 years old. The closest we have here are some of the older FJ series and even those are hard ro find and very expensive if you do find them since most have been restored, thus demanding a premium price.

*25 years... not that I have looked into it. :secret:

40 series seem to be about the most common around me, followed by 80 series, 100 and then 60.

That single cab!

Back in the '60s and '70s Toyota restricted availability of the Land Cruiser models. A dealer told my dad back around 1980 that Toyota wasn't sending any of the original 2–door FJ40 Land Cruisers to the eastern US, but reserving them all for the West Coast. Those were and still are rare around here in Virginia.

Some of the Japanese manufacturers weren't above playing games with popular models. I have other stories.

Most of the stuff on the canopy I build myself.
1. Drawer System
2. Electrical System
3. Cold/ Hot water System.
4. Fridge and Freezer.
5. Kitchen.

My idea behind this build were that setting up camp and taking it down again should not take longer than 10 minutes.
When fully packed and kitted I have a system that can provide off grid camp for 14 days plus.
There is a 35 gal water tank onboard supported by an 12V pump and gas geyser for hot water.

Have installed a 12V 80l twin fridge / freezer and a 60l freezer inside the canopy..
Keeping everything powered are a 220W solar panel and two 180A/hr Gel batteries charged by a dual charger.

The 360 deg Ostrich wing awning keeps you in the cool on hot days. Quick pitch shower installed with hot and cold running water that plug into the water system.

On top a pop-up Rooftop tent sleeping two.

Electrical System.

Built my own control panel. Fitted with 12V DC to DC charger. Dual input. Can charge from solar and vehicle electrics simultaneously.
Power outlets for the fridges and water pump. Switched power lights in canopy and rooftop. Also outlet to power USB ports in Rooftop tent.

Pro level conversion there!

Fused on both the positive and negative. Someone want to make sure they don't have a fire!

Nice work so far!
