it just died

on my way home from work my rps started dropping to 0 then back up to 1500 where they should of been and then their was a loud clunking and i shut the truck off and now it wont crank. the oil level is good and i just did an oil change last week. the drive shaft is still attached to the truck. itll roll over but wont crank and there is no clunking when i try to crank it. just rebuilt the motor less than 7000 miles ago.

More specifically, is the starter turning the engine or not?

Is it getting fuel and spark?
