Hi guys,i never own before a diesel car,but with the gas at 4.00 bucks i think so is time now :bawling:

The question is this,i found a diesel engine complete is still in the dodge ram 50(i am sure is the 2.3 turbo diesel)i saw the turbo,i spin the turbo and spin fine, and with a vise grips :icon_rofl: turn the crankshaft pulley, what other recomendations told me before i buy that engine? i smell the oil and dont smell like overheating!!

this is the truck i wanna put the diesel engine

and the price is around 230 bucks, and where is the vin number in the block, because here in mexico that ppl from that junkyard are really dumb lol

get the trans too.

clean it up and pressure test the cooling sytem to 15 psi or so....

if that looks good, pull the oil pan and valve covers, see what the bearings and valvetrain look like. if they look good get some fuel to it and see if it goes.

230 bux if it runs is a pretty good deal especially if it provides 30 plus mpg.

Good idea bobby

LIKE 2 HOURS AGO I FINISH TO CLEAN LITTLE BIT THE ENGINE,THAT SHIT SI HEAVY :icon_surprised:

TOMORROW I GO TO VISIT THE JUNKYARD AGAIN, AND I GO TOLD THE GUY TO HIDE THE TRANNY FOR ME AND I THINK I FOUND WHAT IS THE REASON WHY THAT CAR ENDING THERE

LOOK THE PICS

I CHECK THE ODOMETER,AND SHOW 230K MILES,I GO TO OPEN THE HEAD AND ADJUST THE VALVES,AND MAYBE IN THE WEEK OPEN THE CARTER,AND CHECK THE OIL CLEARANCE.

BOBBY WHERE I CAN BUY ONLINE THE GLOW PLUGS? AND WHAT MORE I NEED,OTHER THAN THE TRANNY?

i buy my plugs off of a guy on e bay now, but through the shop directly over the phone, not ebay pay.

but i have a v8 diesel that is common, i cant remember what plugs those use. but this may be the one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NGK-2161/ i would try rock auto for good price on plugs.....probably have to look up a mitsu truck though...or under emmision on the diesel ranger application.

pretty sure you can just put an electric pump on them for fuel. most carb types should work, but an inline ranger unit is pretty cheap, under 50 bux last i knew

The clutch disc is gone

NO BOBBY THE CENTER OF THE CLUTCH DISC IS BROKEN,AND I THINK THAT MAYBE DAMAGE THE TRANNY TO,I CAME BACK NOW FROM THE JUNKYARD AND I SPIN THE SHAFT WITH MY HAND AND TURN BUT NOT SMOOTH AND MAKE SOME NOISES :(,BUT I BE READING A LOT YESTERDAY NIGHT,AND I FOUND IS THE SAME BELLHOUSING WITH THE 4D55 AND THE 46GT(I DONT REMEMBER THE NUMBER EXACTLY BUT IS THE ENGINE IN THE 2.6 TURBO GASOLINE STARION/CONQUEST)AND WHEN I HAVE MY STARION :D:D(I BLOW ENGINES AND TRANNYS LOL)MY FRIEND HOW IS A MECHANIC TOLD ME IS BOLT ON THE TRANNY FROM THE CAMARO V6(YEAH THE T5 ;) )SO I NEED TO BUY A BELLHOUSING LATER FOR BOLT ON THE BACK OF THE 4D55 AND TRY TO STAR THE ENGINE :icon_thumby:
