2001 3.0 flex fuel. Troubleshooting my P0455 and did some reading on the fuel tank pressure sensor that clips into the top of the fuel pump assembly. Its accessible on top of the tank, easy enough to replace. Problem is they are obsolete from Ford and aftermarket. I found many that look similar, but fitment says no go. Any leads on new ones? I prefer to not buy used. This Is what it looks like:

Just 3 wires. I'd be willing to bet any other 3 wire Ford sensor for that could be made to work if the mounting is even similar...

Thats what I am thinking. This looks exactly like the part as well"

Why not used? You will know right away if it works or not. My 2007 ranger is 2.62 volts . Once the evap system starts pulling vacuum on the tank -your voltage will drop. I would definitely go the route of getting used fuel pump for your vehicle from scrap yard if you need the sensor. You are absolutely correct on the fuel tank pressure sensor not being available from Ford. Amazon would be a gamble on this part.

I'll have to pull out my scanner and get a reading and if not, access the sensor and probe it. I know it has to be in the 0.1 to 4.99 range.

I wonder how it's really using that signal. If it was mine, I'd be tempted to make a dummy plug with 2 resistors. If it runs on 5volts and wants to see 2.5volts on the signal wire, I'd use two 1k or 10kohm resistors in series. Hook one end to the 5volt wire, the other end to the 0volt(ground) wire and tie the signal wire to the middle between the 2 resistors. Seal it all up waterproof. It would always see 2.5 volts.

If the ecu wants to see varying values for some reason, that won't work.

As soon as my scanner charges a little I will find that info

Although my TopDon ArtiDiag500 may not have that capability.

usually fuel tanks used are not a u pull....either with turnkey swaps or shelf yards.

but adapting any range able sensor is always an option.

My u pull its have them.

They have a pickax hole in the bottom but they are too lazy to pull them otherwise.
