Can the stock Ranger fuel pump assembly accept a higher capacity pump? Saya 255 lph pump for a Mustang? Looks like it might. Has anyone done this?

Are the fuel line diameters the same? I know my earlier 1986 ranger used 5/16 fuel lines. My larger trucks with V8's use a 3/8 supply and a 5/16 return.

On the frame pump (iirc 86-88) the high pressure pump is the same from 2.9 all the way to the 7.5. You probably ok with what's stock. Test pressure and (important!) volume to be sure.

Stock pump flows around 35 gph which will not be enough for my planned 350-375hp 302. I'd rather upgrade the pump and not have to worry that it's not got enough volume.

Well ... was poking around my parts stash and found I had a NOS Ford Racing 155l/hr fuel pump still in its box. Should flow enough to feed 400 hp.

Stock pump is pretty close;
35 US gallons equals 132.5 liters.
Or
155 liters equals 41 US gallons.
And if you use real gallons ie; imperial, then its even closer....
35 imp. gallons equals 159 liters
Or
155 liters equals 34 imp. gallons.
