How do I stop the fuel filter lines from covering me in gasoline when I take it off? I let the fuel tank go to almost empty, parked it on an uphill driveway, depressurized the fuel rail from the little Schrader valve, even tried pinching the soft line going to the tank with some vice grips and it still spews fuel everywhere and so I can't change it. What am I doing wrong?

did you start the truck with the fuel pump relay removed? thats how i always did it and i only get a little drip out of the lines

Wear a face shield to keep it out of your eyes and mouth. Then accept your new cologne.

This right here. let it die and crank it again. you will get some dribble or a light splash but nothing noteworthy. shouldn't even have to do any of the park uphill or pinch off lines, just yank the relay and run it.
