2005 ford ranger fx4 SOHC Electric fan swap. This should work with other years as long as they are the same generation

This will require slight modifications. But the majority is plug and play. to the inline thermosats housing, and the radator fan shroud

I Have been running this for about 2 years now. Been running well. Im in pennsylvania. It ran cool in the summer and havent overheated once so far.

I went with the 175-185 range for the controller. Because i have found out while reading a car scanner, I would find that the ECU temp would be about 10 degrees higher than what the temp sensor would read. Maybe because the stock temp sensors are right on top of the engine.

Parts
Fan - derale HO Extreme 16917Summit racing. You bolt this right onto the radiator shroud. So you don't need to use the radiator insert holders.

Controller - derale High amp Controller 16789. Summit racing. Bolt this to the shroud, and connect to the battery and other parts. Need to adjust the on and off settings of the fans through this. Set mine to turn on around 175-185ish

Thermostat - Motorad 248180. 180F. Rockauto. Initially used the 195f, the temp went to high that i was uncomfortable with. Found that the ranger is good at 205 degrees in the tech manuals. The ECU temp is about 10 degrees higher then what glowshift will read.

Radiator - 4 row Aluminum radiator w/Shroud. Ebay or radiator express Had to cut the shroud to for the derale fan. DONT USE THE EBAY SPECIAL FAN. ITS UNDER POWERED. Once you cut the shroud to fit the derale fan, you can bolt it to it.

Radiator inline hose for temp sensor - Radiator In-Hose Adapter Electric Fan Thermostat Temp Switch Sensor. Ebay or americanvolt. Used the small hole for the glowshift temp sensor, made a new hole and tapped it for the derale sensor. Cut the upper radiator hose about half way to fit this.

Temp gage - Black & Green MaxTow Water Temperature Gauge. For visual data. YOu can use a scanner to see the temps but i found that the temps are about 10 degrees less of what the ecu was reading

LED Toggle Switch. I chose blue cuz i like blue. But this is the manual switch to turn the fan on. Mounted under the steering wheel

LED Indicator Light- This is for paranoid people that want to know if their fans are running. I can hear the fan but sometimes i second guess it and been thinking about connecting this to the fan to show it being turned on in the car.
