Hi,
I too just discovered this section of the forum. I've been into r/c quite awhile,
mainly tanks, and recently scored an excavator. This is my first r/c truck tho.
I've done a servo upgrade, steering parts, weight added, etc. I find the SCX
a very capable little crawler, and alot of fun !
Also, my first attempt cutting out and painting a clear body shell, whatcha think ?

Have a good week.

Looks good. Is this 1/24 scale?

Thank You,
Yes 1/24 scale, just about the perfect size for portability. Axial SCX24, fully proportional, upgraded
servo, steering linkage. Hobby grade, so there are many modification parts available.
Grandsons can easily control it, as opposed to the myriad of cheap basic r/c vehicles
that are full throttle or nothin', slammin' into walls, furniture, etc.
The body was a clear shell that required cutting out the wheel wells, cutting out
the front and rear ends, the paint was applied on the inside of the body.
2 of my friends had 1st gen's back in the day, in this color scheme.
B.T.W., the original body was a Jeep Cherokee, I consider the Bronco body the
best 'upgrade' I've done to it so far !

Nice.

I’d recommend getting a pair of curved Lexan body scissors if you plan on ever cutting another body. They’re worth the small investment for the wheel arches.

Ive got a first gen Ranger body sitting around waiting for the right chassis to fit it onto. I’ll have to dig up a pic.

Cool,
Thanks snoranger, this was my first one. It was a challenge
cutting them out, I'm sure a curved pair would have helped.
Definitely will invest in them if I do another.
I wasn't super happy with the shape of the rear versus the front wells, but
as I said, first one, and much better than a Jeep !
