13 pints of fire roasted salsa...

was at tsc today & saw they were doing a season clearance on chickens. $1 each. I “only” brought home 9. Now I need to build a small coop for them since it will be a while before they can join the other 15.

The black ones look more like crows, than chickens.

No biggee . . . there's decent crow recipes out there.

I was at the farm store earlier this year. Older lady and her husband pushing around a cart with like 6 big (like 50lb) bags of raw peanuts. I asked him if he was gonna roast them or something? Wife piped right and said the peanuts were for the the blue Jay's. Old guy says... I'm going broke feeding the damn things. Without missing a beat... I looked right at the lady and said... I have an amazing blue Jay recipe I'm willing to share.

Old man laughing...

Old lady... if looks could kill I woulda died twice that day.

Minding my own business... picking my garden this cool Saturday morning... BAM!! There's my wife flashing me with camera in hand. God I love her.

Our garden doesn't look anywhere that nice. Neither of us have had time to keep up with it. We have gotten quite a few tomatoes and the brussels sprouts are doing nicely. I think Jessica has gotten a few peppers out of it as well.

Yeah... a garden can be a time suck. Even more time if it does well. I ended up canning 7 more pints of salsa... but i amped up the heat on that batch.

I did dump out one of my potato bags (the foliage was dead). I'd guess there was about 3 pounds of potatoes in there. Hopefully the second one yields more then the first.

It's been years since I grew potatoes... but damn... the texture and flavor blew my mind. I'm already planning to plant them next year in a much bigger way. They were that good...
