tanks for your help

and sorry for my english

Have you checked your throttle cable? It can get stuck on the throttle body and make your rpms shoot way up.

A big vaccum leak can affect idle too.

Inspect the PCV hose and connections and look/listen for any vaccum leaks.

There was a service bulletin about bad connections to the throttle position sensor that can do this. Do a web search.

thanks for your help , i just Check the Idle Air Control Valve, and clean it and is working normal,

tanks again for your help

my 94 did the same thing about a month ago...couldnt find anything wrong...no throttle issues or anything...quit after i shut it off and started it up again

I have a 95 and my 3.0 idles no less than 2-21/2 grand. I have used a can of break cLean with no change I cleaned the iac nothing the maf makes no difference if it is plugged in or not. What the heck do I do to slow this thing down. I changed the crank position Senser then drove it a hundred miles
Since then the thing idles fast. It runs good but idles too gast.

Idle out of control

Hello bought my son a 95 ranger in another state. To get it running I had to put a crank position senser on it then drove it 100 miles home. Since then I have done all I know to get the idle down . I used all most a whole can of brake clean looking for vacuum leaks cleaned the iac
Cleaned the maf senser . Nothing changes idles about 2 to 2 1/2 grand .I thought if the maf was unplugged it would stall but it made no difference. Could the ecm be capping out. I'm lost need help

Sounds like a major vacuum leak, which you've been checking for. Plug off the brake booster line, perhaps the booster is leaking. Check all vacuum lines; if you can, disconnect at the intake manifold and cap off. Don't forget to reattach them after.
