OK here is a strange one for you.......

My 06 Ranger 4x4 5 sp 4.0L - When driving in the snow, will shut off for 1/2 sec and then come back to life.... 10 min later it will do it again. It is very harsh when it comes back, as this causes major drive line backlash..

The really strang thing is it will do this even if the roads are dry and there are just a few flurries in the air...... Strange one.

I replaced the plugs and the wires and no differance !!!!

It doesnt do this in the rain - just when it snows....

Any Ideas ??????

60,000km - 38,000 miles

There has to be another constant in the equation. I would say something with moisture in the air but you said it doesn't do it when it rains. There has to be something else. Any more info you can give us? Temperature outside, really cold all the time, colder when it snows?

I wish there was ....
It was raining here and just above freezing, on the way home I drove through some deep puddles and no problem.

The only thing I can think of is snow is getting past the K&N filter and gettinng to the Mass Air Flow Sensor - I cant think of any other option. I would put the paper filter back in if I still had it.
