Engine / General waterproofing

Hey everyone, I have my 03 edge with a 4.0, and i was just wondering what places under the hood i should be worried about getting water into/onto, (not including the intake of course). Theres apparently alot of pretty good trails around here, but I've been told that many of the mudholes can be quite deceptive. So naturally I don't want anything getting in where it shouldn't be.

protect the Maf and u'll be fine. little mud wont hurt anything,
spray the entire engine bay down with wd40 before if you'd like.
