dual gas tank ranger? is it rare?

My 83 longbox had a 17 gallon front and 13 gallon rear. When I had the 2.8 liter I could go 600 miles on the highway. It was great and it really was nice when I went to the 302. Then the control valve went out and I couldn't replace it so I tied the tanks together and pulled from both. I had to have the rear tank fixed once but if it ever leaks again I don't know where I will find a replacement. maybe F350 or try a bronco ll.

When I was given this truck I had to run it thru an inspection. That cost me about $1,000.00 in parts. The first time I took it to fill up I found out that the second tank didnt have a fuel pump in it... just a big hole on top of the tank where it should have been. That was a nerve wracking trip home from the gas station.... glad it was only two blocks.
I ended up removing the tank and putting in a spare tire holder.

Ive never had a twin-tank ranger but Ive always removed that rear under bed spare & carrier. My ‘94 has the bigger 20 gallon tank , plenty of fuel load for a 2.3 even with a 4.10 rear axle.
