Blowing off Radiator Hoses

I have an 04 ranger edge 3.0L I have 52K miles on it. About 2 weeks ago I had a valve spring break and it dropped my valve into the cyl. I had to replace the head etc. all was fine and then 2 days ago my radiator cracked. I bought a new radiator and changed the hoses and thermostat, even though I did not ever have my temp guage go above normal. My temp guage still has not read past normal but I keep blowing off my radiator hoses. It was the top hose first. It is not saying that I am overheating but obviously when it dumps the coolant it is. After putting the hose back on several times I took out the thermostat thinking it want working and I changed out the hose clamps since I had used the old ones. I drove about half a block and then it blew my bottom hose off so I had it towed home. I am not sure what would cause it to build up that much pressure. Could my water pump have ceased and the pulley still turn? Also any clue as to why my temp guage seems to be working from cold to normal temp correctly yet not tell me when it is overheating?

Sounds like a head gasket issue. You're seeing combustion pressures in the cooling system. Need to do some pressure testing.

Ok I will start on that. The gaskets are all new. I had to change them when I put the new head on. could the issue be from the new head??

Quite possibly you have an air bubble in the heater core or hoses? May the headgasket gods be with you!

One time I noticed the smell of hot antifreeze, no change in temp at gauge. When I pulled the pump, all the fins were gone. Rusted or chewed, IDK. I just know that the pump worked, it just had no fins to move the water.

Google head gasket glove test. Simple way to test for a blown head gasket or cracked head leaking pressure into the cooling system. Thats def what it sounds like to me.

That is a really cool way to determine that, thanks dirtman. I will do that this afternoon.
