Battery Tray Removal

Anybody ever removed the battery tray on a 94 b3000? I took the battery out and the 4 bolts that I thought held it on but it is stuck like chuck.

It's spot welded. I tried to remove one from a JY 3rd gen and found that out the disappointing way.

Figures! I guess I will clean and paint in place.

I did on my 94 Ranger and found the same thing. So I drilled out the spot welds ground all surfaces primered and painted black. It blew my mind that they spot welded and bolted them on from the factory. It sure didn't make welding a new nut to the bottom of the tray any easier.
