I recorded a video above so you can see what I am talking about.

I want to know if anyone has a picture of the inside of the slip joint. I am afraid that if I take this apart to investigate that it won't go back together. I am not prepared to drop some $$ to possibly buy a new shaft if that is the case.
Anyone have any insight. The shaft is all aluminum and am not sure on if this shaft can be fixed or do I have to buy another shaft?

I'm not sure how the portion under the rubber cover is constructed. BUT I can see motion where the u-joint and end of the shaft join where there shouldn't be any. Fix [replace] the u-joint first before going any farther.

I have checked both the joints and they are in good shape, no play. The movement you see in the U-joint is just pivoting on a normal axis. All of the play is in the slip.

You can either ignore it, (it will get worse) or replace it

There is nothing you can do to repair it.
