Can a moderator delete my account? I don't use it anymore.

Moderators don't have the permissions to do that.

I know Jim doesn't really like to do that because it leaves unknown user holes in all of you old posts.

Maybe turn off all notifications in your preferences and just let your account ride. You may just end up coming back in the future.

I can delete if absolutely necessary but I don't like to in case folks try and come back it can get annoying. It's much easier to reset a forgotten password
