Hi everyone. My 1994 explorer with 4WABS has its ABS light on. Finally got it to show me code 17.

17: Reference Voltage/Intermittent Valve Fault

Anyone have any experience tracking this one down?

I Need to get a salvage title vehicle inspection and everything need to be perfect.

Thanks!

If the wire harness looks undamaged, you probably need a replacement ABS unit. If you have access to a wire diagram, check power and ground before calling the unit bad.

On Rangers, the unit is on the the driver's side, either in the engine bay close to the master cylinder or it's on the frame rail below the master cylinder. Look for a bunch of brake lines comming off of an aluminum block looking thing.
