Just a query on whether or not the oil level sensor on the side of the pan needs to be connected to turn off the oil light. Second question, is there a difference between the sensor for a gauge and for a light?

Thanks

Mine has 2 different lights for oil level and oil pressure. Pressure is the tach. Level is in the center with the check engine light.
